Editorial & affiliate policy
How we write, choose recommendations and make commercial relationships clear.

Last updated: 13 September 2026.
Who writes the site
Potato’s family is responsible for the articles, photographs and videos published under PotatoTheHamster. NanoBuzz sp. z o.o. operates the website. Our About page explains that relationship. We do not claim veterinary qualifications.
Care information and corrections
We distinguish our experience from general care guidance. Articles link to welfare or veterinary sources so adults can check the advice. We correct inaccurate information and broken links when identified. The displayed update date changes when an article is substantially reviewed, not merely to make it look new.
How reading lists work
Our Top 10 articles are editorial starting points for families, not scientific rankings or an exhaustive comparison. We favour clear explanations, welfare information and useful material to explore together. Inclusion of our own site or channel is disclosed prominently. A source may change after our review, so adults should check an external page or video before sharing it with a child.
Paid, gifted and affiliate content
We label advertisements, paid partnerships and gifted products where readers encounter them. An affiliate link may earn us a commission on a qualifying purchase; the article or offer will explain that relationship before the link. Commercial links use sponsored link attributes. The promo-code page shows which verified offers, if any, are currently available.
We do not accept payment to change a care conclusion, hide a drawback or sell a ranking. A gift does not guarantee publication. We only discuss relevant hamster or family-learning products and never ask children to make a purchase.
Tell us about a problem
Send the page link and what needs checking. A factual correction does not require newsletter signup or permission for marketing.
